How billing works

Learn how usage is metered per second, priced, and invoiced monthly for each subscription in its currency, and who can see and pay the bills.

Bulutistan Cloud bills pay-as-you-go. The platform meters what your resources use, per second, prices that usage, and adds it up on one invoice per subscription for each calendar month, in the subscription's currency. You pay invoices by bank transfer. You can't pay by card, and the platform never charges you automatically.

Key features

  • Per-second metering. Resources are billed per second of use, with a minimum of 60 seconds per resource, applied once. See Per-second metering.
  • One currency per subscription. Each subscription is billed in TRY, USD, or EUR, chosen when you create it. The subscription created at sign-up is billed in USD. See Subscriptions and currency.
  • Monthly invoices. Each invoice lists the charges by service, the tax, and the credits applied. You can download it as a PDF or a CSV file. See Invoices and payments.
  • Payment by bank transfer. You send the transfer yourself, and the invoice is marked paid once the finance team confirms that the money has arrived. See Pay an invoice.
  • Credits and coupons. Redeem a coupon code, and the credit is applied to your next invoices. See Credits and coupons.
  • Quotas. The subscription's quota is shared between its projects through each project's allocation. You can request an increase in the console. See Quotas.
  • Cost analysis. Cost Explorer, budgets, and commitments are part of Cost Management. See What is Cost Management?

How it works

The subscription is the billing account. Every project belongs to one subscription, and the usage of all its projects is billed to that subscription. Invoices, payments, credits, commitments, and licenses belong to the subscription, not to a project. Each subscription has one currency and one region.

Metering. For each resource, the platform records its usage per hour. A record counts the seconds of that hour in which the resource was billable, in the unit the resource is billed in: hours of use, GB-months of storage, or GB of data sent. Add-ons and licenses with a monthly or yearly period are charged a full period at the start of each period instead. For the details, see Per-second metering.

Pricing. A commitment lowers the price of the usage that it covers. See Savings Plans and Reserved Instances. For prices, see Pricing.

Invoicing. After a calendar month ends and its billing period is closed, the subscription's usage for that month is added up on an invoice: the charges, grouped by service, the tax for your billing country, and the credits that are applied. The invoice is due 14 days after it's issued.

Payment. You transfer the amount to the bank account shown in the console, quoting the payment reference. The finance team matches the transfer and marks the invoice paid. See Invoices and payments.

Who can see and manage billing

Invoices, payments, credits, commitments, and licenses belong to the whole subscription, so they need a role granted on the subscription. A role granted only on a project shows Subscription-level access required on these pages.
